Behind the scenes at Daisys Photo Shoot with Cara Delevingne!
I’d been looking forward to this day all week and finally it had arrived. I got on the train, travelled up to London; got on the dreaded tube (which, like I’ve said before, we all love to hate!) and made my way to Scampston Studios just off Cambridge Gardens.
As I entered the room I wasn’t sure what to expect. The hype of this day and made all pre conceptions phase into one big blur. But one thing was sure…she was BEAUTIFUL!
Wearing a simple pearl gold high necked dress, stacked with Daisy Rings and posing with a 1920’s sewing machine, CARA DELEVINGNE was the perfect image of angelic status! With her eyes piercing through the camera lens, the beauty was captured at its finest, making myself suddenly very aware of the tatty boots I was wearing!
I wasn’t there long before makeup artist Aimee Adams swept in to touch up Cara’s already perfect face with a tad more shadow to the eye! Then, a quick outfit change; queue Alex Longmore, stylist to the stars and the person you wish you had access to everyday!
Daisy was in heaven; suitcases FULL of make-up, a clothes rail baring the most beautiful dresses, and our very own OPI nail technician!
Behind the lens creating and capturing the magic was David Brook, who has shot for the likes of Temperley London, Fins and many more. With a smooth Reggae soundtrack, plenty of food to keep every one going and some fantastic props, the tone was set for the day and the out come was fantastic.
Thank you to everyone who was part of making the day such a great success and of course a HUGE thank you to Cara for being so wonderful! I think you will all agree with me when I say; she is one to watch!
DAISY'S NEW URBAN SPACER COLLECTION!
Daisy Jewellery continues to expand the range of ‘Stack Rings’ with the launch of our brand new collection; ‘Urban Spacers’. This collection moves away from English whimsy, to a harder edged look.
Taking inspiration from East London itself, Daisy incorporates the people, the style and the attitude and mixes this all within a new range of Stack Rings.
Co-Creator James Boyd says;
“Working in East London I had the opportunity to experience it as an outsider looking in. Walking around the lanes, you can’t ignore the energy that London has, and East London offers this within its architecture, its markets and the people. These were all contributing factors to the inspiration of the Urban Spacer Collection.â€
Mixing rings in silver and vermeil, with a variation of matt and polished finishes, Daisy adds an extra edge using oxidisation and ruthenium plating, giving the rings an urban London vibe.
Each ring has its own name, carefully chosen to go with a certain area of East London; ‘Shoreditch’, ‘Hoxton Square’ and ‘Brick Lane’ to name a few.
With 26 Rings, all complimenting the existing 172 stack rings, this urban collection adds panache to the never ending diversity of the Daisy Stack Ring collection.
Available February 2010!
Silver vs. Gold
“It’s bad luck to wear silver and gold together, plus you look stupid†–this is what one girl said to me while I was at school. The truth is, I hadn’t even thought about them being different colours, or different metals, I was just wearing what, as a little girl, I thought was pretty!
Who would have thought the type of jewellery you wear would define you as a person.
When I was younger I saw gold as being, how can I put this? Well, not so classy! Silver was what I wanted to wear, but perhaps this was because it was easily available.
As I have got older I have grown to appreciate the pure beauty and class gold offers, and I am often in awe of owning the perfect gold jewels.
As I write this now, my left arm consists of two silver bracelets and a silver ring, with my right arm fashioning a gold bracelet, silver ring as well as a gold ring.
Just look through the daisy collection; some pure silver rings, some pure gold, and some with a nice mix of the two, all offering complete beauty and sophistication.
I suppose the moral of this story is: it is NOT bad luck to wear silver and gold together; it’s the style, and Daisy LOVES it!
