Stacking, the next big thing

Ten years ago the charm bracelet was the one thing that every girl wanted to find under the Christmas tree. Two years ago the beads phenomenon hit the UK jewellery market and has since taken it by storm. Whether it’s composable brackets a la Nomination or adding a charm bead to a bracelet to commemorate a special occasion, there is something that all of these fashions have in common: a customer’s ability to personalise their jewellery and create something unique to them. Cue Stack Rings.
Stacking Rings have the collectable and personalisation aspects that so often run through the big jewellery trends. Customers can choose anything from the colour of metals, size, colour and type of stones, loading up their fingers to create their own unique stories and composable designs.
Noel Boyd, founder of Daisy Stack Rings, agrees that the emotion behind each sale is an important consideration. “I have watched with fascination the revival of charms and the current bead phenomenon. I thought about how this self design concept could be translated into another medium of modern jewellery. Having experimented with stack rings in the 70’s and the 80’s, I started work on creating a concept for today’s market.â€
