Winter Beauty With Emma Hoareau

Meet the lovely Emma, a Parisian-Brit, travel seeker, beauty expert and lifestyle guru. If you haven’t come across her before, take time to get lost in her blog Lolita Says So or check out her beautiful images on Instagram. You’ll be scrolling for hours!

You may also recognise Emma from our Healing Necklace launch. She wears the Howlite Healing Stone necklace and boy does she know how to style it.

We met up with her to discuss her top tips for Christmas and winter beauty.

Hi Emma, we’d love to hear more about your winter beauty routine as we are all feeling a little rough around the edges with all the festivities taking their toll. What are the 3 products you can’t live without this time of year?

In the colder months, skincare is all about hydration. The gentle, soothing anti-redness Avene cleanser is great as it doesn’t disturb the skin too much, which will be feeling more sensitive due to cold weather and heating. A hydrating serum is vital! I love the Guerlain Super Aqua. And third would have to be a body product, the skin on the body needs particular attention at this time of year and people often forget this as it’s always hidden under layers of clothes. A good body oil like Nuxe Huile Prodigeuse can do wonders.

How do you look after your skin in the winter months and make sure it looks hydrated and fresh after endless parties, mince pies and mulled wine?

In winter it’s easy to forget to drink water, so I try and drink as much as I can along with lots of herbal teas. Hydration comes from within to start with, but I’ll also use hydrating masks and serums to add hydration topically, too. My favourite hydrating mask is probably Sisley Black Rose.

There is so much choice out there it can be a bit overwhelming, what is the one product you’d advise us to get our hands on this year?

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask. I’ve got sensitive skin so I have to be careful with exfoliating products but this one has the most amazing ingredients and doesn’t irritate the skin. I use it every Sunday night to renew my skin for the week ahead.

What’s on your Christmas wish list this year?

I moved flat at the end of the summer so I’m hoping for lots of great home wares like linen sheets, coffee table books and cosy throws.

What’s your go-to Christmas beauty look?

A red lip, paired with gold jewellery. It’s festive and easy to do, plus looks great against paler skin. I love Red Carpet Red from Charlotte Tilbury, or if you want a product that will not budge then the Armani Lip Magnet is amazing.
