Daisy Travels | The Cotswolds

With our latest campaign ‘Love to Love’ being about self love, togetherness and life balance, what better way to grab some of our favourite Daisy girls and escape the bright lights of London in search of greener pastures and some much needed R&R.

We hopped on the train at Paddington Station with Liv, Carrie and Hattie, coffees in hand and just 1hr 30 minutes later we were in the beautiful village of Painswick nestled amongst the Cotswold hills. Tranquility and peace were two words that automatically sprung to mind when we arrived at our home for the next 24hrs, The Painswick Hotel, part of The Calcot Collection. Welcoming us like long lost friends, we were shown to our rooms to settle in.

A homey yet modern feel has been cleverly created with impeccable style and taste. The littlest of touches went a long way, with freshly baked treats left in our room and even a little something for our new BFF Luna (Hattie West’s beloved four legged partner in crime!)

We’re suckers for a bit of exploring and Painswick really is an idyllic British village to have a good noisy around with its distinctive mellow Cotswold stone and variety of quaint shops, galleries, tea shops and pubs. The Rococo gardens with it’s breathtaking carpet of snowdrops are a short hike away and we can highly recommend! After fresh air overload, we were ready to retreat back to Painswick and spend the late afternoon firmly curled up next to the logged fire with a cuppa.

Seamlessly moving from tea to pre-dinner drinks without moving an inch and then obviously onto no less than a three course dinner including burrata, pan fried sea bass with gnocchi and salted caramel with banana and praline (need we say anymore…?!), we put the world to rights, talking into the late hours of the night until we could no longer keep our eyes open.

The morning did not disappoint either, what can be better waking up to picture perfect views, feeling totally rested and the promised of a hearty breakfast? As if we hadn’t had enough to eat the night before??! After breakfast we reluctantly headed back to the big smoke feeling full and rested and already plotting a return trip to the Cotswolds. It really was the most perfect spot for a mid-week retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. #selflove goals!
