Black Makers Edit

Introducing the Black Makers Edit, a capsule collection of products from some of our favourite black-owned brands and artisans that we think you will love as much as we do.

Being an ally to the black community comes in many forms, from speaking out against injustices and donating to charities working to fight racism; to supporting black-owned businesses. It’s time to share our platform and encourage our community to buy from some of our favourites: Hazel Gardiner, Qäsa Qäsa, Liha Beauty and La Basketry.

So how does it work we hear you ask...?

1. When you buy an item from the Black Makers Edit, 100% of the sale price goes directly to the maker

2. Every time an item is sold from the Edit, we donate £5 to our Black Makers Fund. The makers have each chosen a charity for this fund to split amongst

3. When you shop, you will also have the option to make an additional donation to the Black Makers Fund

Meet The Makers

Hazel Gardiner:
Dried Flower Wall Hanging

Friend of the brand and quite possibly the cheeriest gal in North London, you might recognise Hazel from articles in our seasonal newspaper, the Daisy Times.

Well, we are incredibly excited to finally be selling an HG masterpiece! The perfect table centrepiece or wall hanging, this dried flower piece is made to last and sure to bring a touch of Hazel's magic into your home year-round.

Qäsa Qäsa:
Double Sided Kitenge Napkins

QÄSA QÄSA partner with exceptional artisans and community groups in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Malawi to design and source unique products that combine traditional skills with modern design.

"All of our pieces are meticulously handcrafted using local and indigenous materials and take into account sustainability and ethical production.

Sustainable gift-wrap or napkins for the Christmas table and beyond, you'll wow everyone with these.

Liha Beauty:
Idan Oil

Liha and Abi met at university in 1998 and instantly bonded over their love of natural skin and hair care products. Together they founded Liha Beauty, creating products that mix natural African roots and a quintessentially British attitude.

Liha Beauty’s best selling Idan Oil is gaining a cult following for a reason. Made with natural, cold pressed coconut oil, a Tuberose flower has been immersed, infusing this wonderful scent into the oil.

100ml of liquid goodness, this can be used all over the body.

La Basketry:
DIY Twine Basket Kit

A familiar face around here, Tabara should need no introduction. Previously featured in our Artisan campaign, Tabara also joined Daisy Creative Director Ruth for an Instagram live workshop. It was here we learnt how to use Tabara’s DIY basket weaving kit, which we are incredibly excited to be selling this Christmas as part of our Black Makers Edit.

Designed for beginners, basket lovers and colour enthusiasts, La Basketry's Twine Basket Kit contains everything you need to make a beautiful and colourful basket using rolls of twine.
