Navigating Motherhood & Fashion With Amy Jackson

We love championing the women around us who make us bloom. Friends, sisters, daughters, mothers. The people who give us life and support us everyday. We spoke to mother of two and writer Amy Jackson to talk all things motherhood and style….

"As a mum to a new born it is hard to regain your sense of style, especially when life is so chaotic and your body has changed drastically, this is where your jewellery steps in! Your jewellery provides an assurance of style no matter what outfit you manage to throw together after a sleepless night. It’s the one thing you can count on to still fit after pregnancy - thus giving new mums, busy mums, tired mums a sense of themselves back. I know first-hand how vital that is for us”

What have you learnt about yourself after becoming a mother?

I have definitely learnt that I am capable of growing and evolving each day. Motherhood has taught me that I, too, am learning alongside my children and that there is no age limit to starting something new.

Best way to unwind after a stressful day of balancing motherhood and work?

After a long stressful day, I like to indulge in either an evening glass of wine or dessert - if I can, a nice soak in the bath also helps.

What does being a mother mean to you?

To me, being a mother means so many things. I think mothers are wonderfully resilient and powerful.

Who inspires you?

It's crazy to say I'm inspired by a toddler and a baby but my two girls inspire me a lot! Aside from that, My mother and a couple of my beautiful friends are women who I look up to, and are constantly in awe of each day.

What piece of jewellery do you have that holds the most meaning?

My most important piece of jewellery is a necklace given to me by my partner for a birthday a few years back. He went to the gift shop so many times before deciding on it and it is just so beautiful to me!

How would you describe your style?

My style is ever-changing. Depending on my mood, it can be feminine and colourful or minimal and comfy. I love playing with shapes and jewellery stacks/layers.

5 mins to leave the house, what’s your can’t-go-wrong fashion piece?

In a rush - I will always grab your Hexagonal Goddess Necklace! It's definitely a can't-go-wrong piece, perfect size and so easy to throw on with everything.

Here at Daisy we see jewellery as our second skin, it tells our story. How does yours make you feel?

Jewellery makes me feel 'put together' even when I know I'm not! It's like a second skin to me also, an effortless way to showcase your style.

What image are you putting in your new Daisy locket?

I'm putting a picture of my two girls Zola and Rumi in my locket!

3 items you can’t leave the house without?

I cannot leave the house without my phone, lipstick and water bottle! (and Daisy earrings of course)

And finally, what advice would you give your younger self?

My advice to my younger self would be to do what makes you happy, and pay no attention to what people think. Don’t keep waiting to do what you want in life.
