My Bag

Estée Edit | July

Oh, hi guys! It's me, Estée. I'm so excited that summer is finally here, and life slowly feels like it's beginning to return to normal.

So I wanted to share with you some of my favourite things to do in the summer along with my fondest summer memories—they really got me through the darkest months of lockdown. Summer, I'm so happy you're here!

This time of year feels like my time to shine. I have so much energy and always feel my best. Maybe it's something to do with the fact that Leo season is approaching? My birthday's in August, which always adds an extra bit of sparkle to any month. I've got plans to be in the countryside with a few close friends to celebrate life.

This year I've spent a lot of time learning and reflecting. And in some of those darkest winter lockdown months, I'd go to my memories of summer as my 'happy place'. One of my fondest childhood memories is road trips to the beach with my mom and brother. Back when people used paper maps to get places (if you can believe it)! Or the time I experienced the sunset in The Maldives. The only way I can describe it is that it felt like I could feel it. It was like something I had never seen before. Sunsets really ground me, and I love how time seems to stand still, and you can just connect with nature.

These days, I love exploring the town on two wheels, and a bike ride around East London is a great way to discover new places (stopping off for a much-deserved ice-cream break along the way. Mint choc chip, every time). Bermondsey Street is awesome for a delicious hotdog and green juice chaser and Columbia Road Flower Market for a colourful summer bouquet.

On a regular day, one of my favourite things to do when the sun is shining is to head out to my local deli for a quick lunch break. I'll grab a pastrami sandwich (no scrimping on the pickles), a green juice, and find a patch of grass to get stuck into whatever book I'm reading at the time. The dream! I find I spend way longer out and about in the summer months, so I'll end up carrying around a tote bag filled with all my summer essentials.

5 things you’ll always find in my summer tote....

- SPF

- tarot cards

- a snack

- cold water

- my Diptyque perfume

And what am I wearing whilst I do all this, you ask? Gold chains and layered hoops. Always. Because they take you from daytime to night. Plus, don't forget your bracelets in the summer. The arms are out, so we might as well show them off!

Even if we can't travel like we used to, I'll just be enjoying the warmer weather, the longer days, the blue skies, and being able to hang out with my friends once again. Oh, summer, how I've missed you—more than ever this year! I can't wait to enjoy every moment of you.

With love,
