My Bag

The Estée Edit | October

Hi everyone, it’s me, Estée! Channelling my inner Carrie Bradshaw yet again, I couldn’t help but wonder... how quickly time flies when you're having fun!
I’m so unbelievably excited to introduce my third Estée Lalonde for Daisy collection, Elevate. I’ve had such an amazing and somewhat unusual time creating this collection over the past year. As you can imagine there have been many changes, a lot of ups and a lot of downs, plus a few tears along the way but I’ve done my best to go with the proverbial flow; yet stay rooted, with whatever this year has thrown at us. I’m so incredibly proud of it and I hope you guys love it as much as I do!
As this next chapter in my life begins I’ve loved looking back on the journey so far... It’s been 2 years since our first collection (I know right? Cue gasp!), It’s so special to look back on all the amazing times we’ve had creating such beautiful jewellery. I really feel this collection is the missing link from the previous ones, a natural evolution, complimenting the meaningful talismans of the earlier pieces with simplicity, balance, and refinement. I’ll never forget that feeling when we launched the first collection. Overwhelmed with excitement, fear, and anticipation. I didn’t know what to expect. I just knew what I loved and what I needed the collection to be for me, in that moment of my life.

And now here we are! The creation of Elevate has definitely followed the same path, it’s exactly what I need it to be at this point in my life, and I hope it holds the same meaning for you. The past year has been so intense for everyone in so many different ways. I really wanted my next collection to be stripped back, easy-to-wear.

Like all of my jewellery, I wanted it to give confidence to whoever wears it.

I’ve always seen jewellery as an armour, a comfort, a token from life’s adventure. I can put my jewellery on every day and be any version of myself. It’s so powerful that such a small thing can make you feel so different. It’s so personal, seeing a piece of jewellery come alive on someone. It’s like...magic.

So, you may be wondering where the name came from? Ok, I’ll be the first to admit it’s not a coincidence that the first two letters in the word Elevate are my initials. But more than that, I think the pieces in this collection will elevate your look, your mood, and how you feel about yourself – or at least that’s my aim. I also love that the pieces in this collection are ‘elevated essentials’ because that’s really the type of jewellery I like to wear the most. Don’t you? Which brings me perfectly onto the jewellery style at the heart of the collection. Chains! Chains are incredible, aren’t they? I absolutely love to layer them over and over. And since we already have so many amazing statement necklaces in our first two collections, I wanted to provide layering chains that could be worn with existing pieces. Worn alone or stacked high - you can’t go wrong.

Ok so, I might be biased but it’s always tough to choose favourites from a collection when you’re obsessed with everything, isn’t it? But if I had to pick I would say I really love the chain rings. I’ll be wearing one on each finger every day until 2021! I’m loving stacking and layering them with my other rings – right now I’m wearing them with my Rising Sun Frame Ring – but I can’t get enough of the Wavey Snake Chain too. Soooo good! And I just know I’m going to be obsessed with stacking my chain earrings together. Basically, it’s all about the chains!

I’m so happy with what we’ve managed to achieve (against all odds!!), but I’m also proud that it has been so successful and people love wearing the pieces as much as I do. To say I’ve learned a lot this year would be an understatement. I’ve learned about myself and my limits. I’ve learned that being true to ourselves is the only way we can really feel fulfilled. And, I’ve learned that vulnerability is key. Talking to people you trust and really letting them in on how you feel is so important in creating a connection with others. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

For this collection, I really wanted to design jewellery that everyone could relate to and feel comfortable in and I really think we did that. And you know what? Sometimes the best thing you can do is follow your intuition. Sometimes the best solution is the one within you, staring you straight in the face. That said, it’s about the process.

Life’s about the journey, right? I’m still learning - and we're still on this journey.

Love Estée x
