I absolutely love to explore, there’s nothing better than visiting a new place and uncovering all it’s hidden treasures! Immersing yourself in the culture, sightseeing until your feet hurt and eating at all the best spots. I've been thinking a lot about where I’d go if all travel was possible and while there are so many amazing places I’ve never been, I think I’d have to go back to Japan. It’s such a beautiful place and there is just so much to see, I feel like I only got to experience the tip of the iceberg. Next time I go I’d love to see more of rural Japan and do lots of hiking.
It has to be said, packing is not my favourite thing in the world but that’s another great thing about Japan, packing to go is easy (ish) as I'd try to pack super minimally so I could buy loads of stationery and beauty products!
I’ve always felt who you take with you on an adventure is just as important as where you’re going.
I love taking Effie with me on all my adventures, and that's been a really great thing about travelling less this summer, I've been able to! Our adventures have been all about laid-back London days with my besties.
This month I was lucky enough to escape to Sicily. It was a magical few days and really helped me remember my adventurous spirit! I soaked up the last of the summer rays, read my book, enjoyed an ice lolly or two, got dressed up in my favourite dresses and jewellery, drank gorgeous wine and ate eggs and watermelon for breakfast… I know right? The best kind of adventure. Here’s my Sicily must-pack list:
1. A really good book. I’m currently reading No One Belongs Here More Than You by Miranda July. It’s amazing!
2. Something special to wear to make you feel great. My go-to dresses at the moment are:
The Bibi Salem| Orange printed panther full length silk slip dress by Olivia von Halle
Delphine Asym Midi Dress by BEC + BRIDGE
3. Your favourite jewellery. I love to have my rings on. I always wear so many rings. I especially love our simple Thea Stacking Rings which can be worn alone or with your other favourites!
I don’t know about you guys but I’ve been feeling very nostalgic recently! When you’re a kid everything feels like an adventure doesn’t it? The first adventure I remember going on was to the beach; my mom, brother and I would drive down using a paper map to find our way (google maps didn’t exist then!) and I loved every minute of it.
I’m going to end with my top tip for feeling free when you can’t travel far. It continues to be an absolutely bonkers year so if you do one thing this month, jump around to music and shake off any negativity! Trust me, it’s the best feeling!
