The latest lady in the Daisy & series is the gorgeous inside and out, Nuria Val. Co-Founder of plant-based beauty brand ROWSE and organic, Extra Virgin Olive Oil company Oli de L’Oliveta (the only olive oil you should have in your kitchen cupboard), Nuria is all about natural beauty. We caught up with her in her hometown, Barcelona, to talk motherhood, skincare, and avocado on toast.

Hi Nuria, where do we begin? Tell us a little about yourself...
I was born in beautiful Barcelona and as a child, I was always curious and loved nature. Fast-forward to 18. I was confused about what to study, and I had the opportunity to start travelling and working as a model. My first trip was the beginning of the most exciting life adventure I could ever imagine. For me, there is nothing better than meeting other cultures and learning from people around the world. I remember I used to carry my analogue camera around with me all the time. Photography means a lot to me, it’s a way to express feelings, and it helps me create a strong relationship with the subjects I photograph.
“Plant-based beauty with a purpose” is a beautiful brand mission, what does this mean to you and what values make ROWSE?
Thank you! I think it incorporates what we are trying to achieve with ROWSE. Everything we do is guided by our love of plants and respect for nature. We aim to show our community another path along their beauty journey. We love demonstrating the versatility of our ingredients and teaching our community how a single oil can be used to care for the face, hair and body. That's why we encourage them to consume just the essentials.
To say we’re obsessed with all ROWSE products is an understatement. What’s your go-to at the moment?
For my hair I use Great Repair Shampoo Bar which works really well for summer, then I use the Hydrating Duo for combination skin, which is made from neroli water and hemp oil. I love hemp oil, it's my favorite. I use it on my face but also on my hair ends to give a wavy finish. Then for my body I use the Summer Body Oil and Rosehip Oil for my belly to prevent stretch marks from pregnancy.
From beauty to olive oil, your talents are endless! What advice would you give someone starting their own business or brand?
I'd encourage everyone to follow their instincts. I feel sometimes we're afraid to try and explore new horizons and in my experience, there is always something interesting along the way.
What’s a favourite recipe using Oli de L’Oliveta everyone must try?
I love breakfasts (especially since I'm pregnant), so I usually prepare some sauveur bread with avocado and tomato and I add oregano and some Oli de L’Oliveta. It tastes delicious!
Here at Daisy we see jewellery as our second skin. Our armour. It tells our story, holding meaning and memory. How does jewellery make you feel?
I love jewellery. It makes me feel self-confident and powerful. I feel like people's jewellery expresses a lot about their character. I love to wear multiple layers and play around with colours.
What piece of jewellery do you have that holds the most meaning to you?
It would have to be a ring from my grandma. That will always be special to me.
What three things are always in your tote bag on summer's day?
I always have my camera with me, a book and some plant oil to hydrate my lips and skin.
You have five minutes to get ready: what do you wear?
I usually get ready in five minutes! I would put on an oversized dress, a pair of sandals, and lots of jewellery to finish the look.
You’re a travel inspiration, if you could take us anywhere on an adventure, where would it be?
I'd take you to Lanzarote. It’s my second home and I would love to take anyone who wants to experience the power of that beautiful island.
Where do you feel most at home?
I'd say Los Angeles was for me a place where I could really express the best of myself, both personally and professionally. Being there inspired me to create and discover my passion for photography.
Huge congratulations on your pregnancy! How do you feel about becoming a mother?
I feel great! I'm eager to meet her and show her the world. It's amazing to see our body changes and being able to experience the process, it's so magical.
What’s the last thing that made you laugh?
My nieces, teaching me about babies. I think they know even more than me! They are 7 and 9 years old and they are so excited to have a cousin.
What are your go-to Daisy piece?
There are four pieces I've been wearing recently that are now a part of my daily life. The Dolly Huggie Hoop Earrings, the Estée Lalonde Curb Chain Ring combined with the Estée Lalonde Chunky Curb Chain. Both rings fit so perfectly and look great together. And last but not least, my beloved Estée Lalonde Intention Chain. I love it! I’ve been looking for a necklace like this for ages. It looks sexy and sophisticated.
Tell us, what draws you to the Daisy brand?
For me, it was love at first sight. I love to work with brands that represent me and give me freedom to interpret their pieces, and Daisy is one of them. I enjoyed shooting these pieces but most importantly, I enjoy wearing them. Huge thanks to Daisy team for being so kind and inspiring.
