How to Choose Everyday Jewellery

Here at Daisy, we know a thing or two about everyday luxury. From minimalist jewellery to more elegant pieces, we’ve something for everyone. Maybe you’re searching for a sentimental piece that’ll fit a more classic style or for a budget gem that’ll blend seamlessly into your collection… Whatever the occasion, whenever the date, we’ve got the ultimate lowdown on the most timeless staples to choose.

Golden Goddess or Silver Siren?

First, start out with choosing your metal. If you’re somewhat of a jewellery collector, you’ve probably already got this one worked out. Those with cooler undertones in their skin tend to favour silver, and those with warm undertones are thought suited best to gold. But it’s all personal preference - feel free to rock silver one day and gold the next. Or, if you’re waking up on the wild side, mix and match your metals for a more eclectic style. For an everyday look, stacking silver and gold necklaces can add an edge to a more simple outfit - especially if you’re working with a minimal colour palette.

Necklaces

A necklace can truly make or break an outfit. And you can make this as fashionable, or as sentimental as you wish. While a selection of chains packs its own punch, selecting a pendant that you love can be a way to develop your signature style. A piece that is uniquely you, and makes you feel put together, is always something you’ll treasure more. If you want to take it one step further, choosing a personalised piece - whether that be your birthstone, nameplate, or a year necklace - is perfect to create a look that is uniquely yours.

When it comes to more technical aspects, such as length and metal, there are a few things to take into consideration. First and foremost, where you want your necklace to sit. Wearing a longer necklace that falls further down will naturally draw eyes down, while a short chain will put the focal point on the delicate clavicle area. Metal-wise, you’ve probably already got this one worked out. Those with cooler undertones in their skin tend to favour silver, and those with warm undertones are thought suited best to gold. But it’s all personal preference - feel free to rock silver one day and gold the next.

Bracelets

Bracelets tend to be often overlooked in the jewellery world: hidden beneath a sleeve or forgone entirely. But, as jewellery obsessives, we think a bracelet can be just as much of a staple as a trusty pair of hoops. The key to finding a bracelet for the everyday generally lies in its simplicity. What you don’t want is a bulky bracelet that weighs down your wrist or a pendant that catches - essential jewels are meant to be comfortable to wear. Choose something lightweight and easy to style, like a snake chain or box chain, for an uber-easy everyday look.

Rings

Similar to necklaces, finding a ring that fits your day-to-day lifestyle is a matter of stylistic preference. Some favour a selection of minimal band rings in plain metals, while others might want a more personal stack with textures, gemstones, and varying ring placements. To start with, though, one or two understated band rings are a great base for any added extras. From there, you can add more statement or sentimental pieces.

Earrings

Here’s where you can really have some fun. Curating your ear stack, or simply finding a pair of earrings to treasure, is similar to finding and refining a go-to makeup routine. Once you’ve perfected it, you can follow the same steps each day - and always love the way it looks. If you prefer a more minimal vibe, you can’t go wrong with layering up a pair of huggies with understated studs. Or, for those with more ornate tastes, a classic pair of drop earrings can really upgrade a basic outfit.

From back to basics to full-out layering, how you style your everyday pieces is ultimately down to you. We’d love to see your signature stacks over at @DaisyLondon on Instagram.
