Last year we found ourselves in the amazing city of Marrakech shooting The Goddess Collection. Marrakech has so much to offer from culture to food to shopping so naturally we needed a break from all the hard work to explore. Here are a few things we recommend if you’re planning a trip there soon.

1. If you plan to do things in style, we recommend staying at El Fenn. This chic, boutique hotel close to the centre of the city is the perfect retreat combining historic architecture with tree lines courtyards and gardens within the grounds.
2. Soak up the sun and take in those mountain views when you book a table on the roof for lunch at Nomad. Based within the Medina and set over four floors, Nomad offers fresh, modern Moroccan food with a twist. Bliss.
3. If you’re an interiors fan, LRNCE, is the place to find luxe accessories to take home. But for a true taste of Marrakech, head to the souks where you’ll be sold an array of treats, from leather bags to rugs, spices, sweets and more.
4. Take a walk inside the YSL Museum. Inspired by the colours and style of the city, the museum is dedicated entirely to the artists work by Jardin Majorelle, perfect for a day of sightseeing.
5. We love a road trip and what better kind that one that leads straight to the beach. The picturesque city of Essaouira is two hours away and offers laid back calm after a few days in the busy city of Marrakech.
