Daisy Is Now Carbon Positive
This year we're continuing our sustainability journey and have been working hard to become Carbon Neutral, meaning we offset the same amount of carbon that we generate. Instead, we decided to take things one step further and become Carbon Positive, meaning that we offset three times the amount of carbon that we generate.
So How Does It Work?
To offset our emissions, we first needed to calculate our Carbon Footprint. To do this we partnered with specialists at Redshaw Advisors Ltd. to work out the exact emissions we generated from our operational activities in 2021. That’s where the Gold Standard comes in….
What’s The Gold Standard?
Every pound we spend offsetting creates more value for local communities and their ecosystems, and contributes in a measurable way to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Their impact has led to the reduction of 191 million tonnes of co2e by supporting 2300 different projects in 98 countries.
Which Projects Does Daisy Support?
We have chosen to invest into projects via a Plannet Zero initiative that focus on biodiversity conservation; helping protect tropical rainforests through Maísa REDD+ Project and aiding the development of wind farms through theWind Farm Project in Karnataka, India.
