Daisy Travels | Our Top Tips For A Weekend In Lisbon

Back in March we shot our SS ’18 campaign in one of our favourite cities of all time, Lisbon. Ever since, we’ve been reminiscing about the hilly coastal capital with it’s beautiful old pastel coloured buildings, ornate tiled houses and hidden cafés tucked away amongst cobbled streets. Something that certainly can’t go amiss (and is also culturally significant in our eyes) are their mouth watering Pastel de Natas. You can never have too many!

The perfect European escape for a long weekend away, we thought we’d share with you our top 5 things to do.

1. Go shopping at Embaixada, possibly the most beautiful store we’ve ever been to. Showcasing some incredible local designers, the iconic building is located in Príncipe Real, one of our favourite neighbourhoods for a Sunday stroll.

2. Thirsty? Head to Casa Independente for live music or Park Bar for rooftop drinks. A rooftop on top of a car park might not sound like one of the most glamorous places but the atmosphere is second to none and you’ll get a 360 degree of the city.

3. Take a wander around LX Factory, home to a mecca of cafés, bars, art spaces, vintage shops, music venues and amazing eateries in what used to be Lisbons most prosperous fabric factories until it was reinvented in 2008.
4. A day at the beach more your kind of vibe? Cross over the 25th April Bridge and hit the beach at Praia da Mata on the Costa da Caparica, only a 25 minute taxi ride away. We suggest hanging around to watch the sun go down over the Atlantic.
5. Eat your heart out at Pistola y Corazon, some of the best tacos we’ve ever eaten (and that says a lot!), washed down with icy margaritas. Its relaxed, friendly vibe and great music makes for the perfect evening out.
