My Bag

And So The Adventure Begins | Whinnie Williams

“At the heart of Daisy lies an adventure, a love for life, a need to explore.”

Meet Whinnie Williams, creative extraordinaire, co-founder of interiors brand @poodleandblonde, ex-musician and who perfectly describes herself as a cross between “Bridgette Bardot and Del Boy”. The ultimate cool girl whose 70’s style and sense of humour had us hooked even before we found out she has her own mini farm at her house!

We were thrilled to catch up with her on her most recent adventure involving a car called Lesley, a french mirror, a vintage tent and some very lovely jewellery of course...

Tell us about your most recent adventure Whinnie...

My fiancé and I drove from Margate to Champagne and Burgundy in our 1970's MG called Lesley. We were worried she wouldn’t make it all the way, but we were excited to give it a go. I love camping so we packed our vintage tent and booked to stay in the grounds of a château.

What’s the earliest adventure you can remember going on?

My dad used to take us away in his caravan almost every weekend with my two sisters and brother. We were feral and just loved waking up in a new place every time.

Any top tips for creating that feeling of exploration and being free, even if you can’t travel far?

I’m lucky enough to have a garden, so in lockdown, I camped in the garden for my birthday. I think just being over the top and styling things up can make it feel extra special. A picnic over the park can feel like a holiday with the right props! For our camping trip, we took an antique mirror to hang on the tree, loads of fun clothes and a drinks trolley/bar. It just makes everything feel fun!

You’re off somewhere exciting for the day, what essentials are in your bag?

A Bikini (I’m very into wild swimming), face sun lotion, towel, dog drinks bowl (for my poodles) and a hair brush, can’t cope without nice hair hahah.

Tell us about the next adventure you’ll be wearing Daisy on…

I’m hoping to go surfing with friends this summer! Cornwall would be great
