Top IWD Events For Your Diary

Championing women is a big part of who we are here at Daisy...

Celebrating those who lift us up, feed our souls and keep us grounded. Mothers, sisters, daughters, nieces, friends, coworkers, we all have women in our lives who make us who we are. Wherever you are and whoever you’re celebrating with this year, we’ve created a quickfire guide of a few of the best IWD talks, debates and events across the world.

Taking place at the Southbank Centre on the 11th-13th of March, the WOW festival brings together women of all backgrounds, careers and walks of life for discussions, workshops and performances. Some highlight appearances this year include Booker Prize-winning author Bernadette Evaristo, ‘The Guilty Feminist’ podcaster Deborah Frances-White and poet Warsan Shire.

Head on over to Hammersmith on March the 5th for a day of panel talks, interactive workshops and seminars highlighting the intersecting identities of black women. The venue will also host events dedicated to the historical and on-going contributions Black women have in business.

Held in Sydney on March the 3rd, this free event celebrates the local women while raising awareness for women’s equality. The event includes talks from mental health clinician Anh Le, business owner Jolie Linh Nguyen, former refugee and Centenary prize winner Xuyen Tang along with plenty of workshops and seminars that will leave you inspired by all the women around you.

There isn’t a better way to celebrate feminie energy and achievements than a little dance party. From March 4th through the 7th the MashUp Contemporary Dance Company will host free dance lessons for all ages and abilities along with live performances and virtual panels exploring topics including gender identity, leadership and community.
