Where did the idea for Evermore London originally come from and how did you build the brand?
I’ve always loved candles and fragrances, and even from a young age I was always crafting and creating. I decided to revisit making something with my own hands and bought myself a candle-making kit online. That’s when I realised just how many candles were made with paraffin wax and synthetic fragrances. I thought there must be a more natural, authentic way to create them, and I soon became obsessed with researching essential oils and natural waxes.
Since setting up the company in 2014, the brand has always had a real affinity with the natural world, and that’s down to my own love of nature and the environment. Our rebrand in 2019 was over a year in the making, and during that time I became highly sensitive to my own choices and the impact they have on the planet. I wanted to make sure that sustainability was at the heart of my business. We don’t claim to be perfect, but we try our best to tread lightly on the planet and give back to charities that support the environment — especially now we’re facing a climate crisis.
Where do you find inspiration for your scents?
Inspiration has always come from the world we live in - from the tides and the trees to the elements and the stars above. Each year we have released a new scent and I’m constantly pushing myself to break the mould of what people expect to see from a scented candle brand. The market is hugely oversaturated now, so I push myself to look beyond my comfort zone. I want our scents to have meaning to our customers - from reigniting a distant memory to affirming everyday moments.
Favourite Evermore London scent, past or present?
Smoke is my all time favourite scent. A lot of care and attention goes into the creation of all our fragrances, but Smoke really is something special. It has real depth to it; the longer it burns the more you discover. Swirls of birch tar, cardamom and cedar bring warmth and comfort as we start to settle in the autumn months.
Favourite Daisy pieces to style everyday?
I’m loving the silver Stacked Rope Creole Hoop Earrings earrings to wear everyday, they go with every outfit whether it be casual or dressed up. I particularly like pairing these earrings with the Double Curb Chain Necklace; a timeless piece. I also love the delicate Essentials Figaro Chain Bracelet, so simple and elegant - I never take it off.
What’s next for Evermore London?
So many things! My head is brimming with ideas at the moment. We have a lot in the pipeline right now. Many of our big plans have been delayed a year as I was on maternity leave for the majority of this year. I’m now back at work part time so the wheels are in motion for new product development
