Whilst life may have been a little more stationary recently, we've managed to have some real adventures over the years at Daisy. And we can't wait to get back to having them. So as we wait to hear if, where, when, and how we can travel again, we thought we'd take a little trip of our own, down memory lane, and look back at some of the incredible journeys we've had so far.
"At the heart of Daisy lies an adventure,
a love for life, a need to explore."
Getting the Goddess Glow in Marrakech
One of our all-time favourite trips was in Marrakech for our first shoot with Estée for our Heirloom collection. The food, the culture, the sounds, and the people: there's nothing quite like enjoying a sundowner on top of the El Fenn rooftop, a candy-coloured riad hidden down an unassuming side street, as the evening call to prayer reverberates around the city. It was an assault on the senses. We'd recommend dinner at Nomad and a trip to the cobalt Jardin Majorelle housing the YSL Museum: a must. And make sure you pack an extra suitcase because you're going to come back laden with Bedouin rugs, cushions, ceramics. The works.
Camping in the South of France
We were so inspired by Whinnie Williams' road trip from Margate to Northern France, in her trusty steed, Lesley – a royal blue 1970's MG. Her journey took her on a tour of some of the country's greatest exports, through Champagne and Burgundy, camping in the grounds of centuries-old châteaux. How we'd love to have joined her in raising a glass to the good stuff. A seriously stylish camper, everything from her ride, tent, fold-up chairs, and jewellery was a lesson in effortless vintage style.
Follow the Collyer Twins to Turkey
We journeyed to the beautiful beach town of Bodrum with The Collyer Twins a while back. Sisters, DJs, bloggers, this pair of multi-hyphenates helped us design one of our all-time favourite collections, Isla, and the trip did not disappoint. Turkey's answer to the Riviera, it's the country's most glamorous coastal hang-out, and with miles of Mediterranean coastline and fashionable hotels, it's not hard to see why. We skipped the superyachts and headed out along the Turquoise Coast's hidden bays for some shell collecting, the starting point for this nautical-inspired collection.
A Love Letter to New York
What a trip this was. A long weekend in New York with Estée and Daisy's creative team to shoot our Goddess Collection in the city that never sleeps (and my god, we barely slept). A jam-packed few days of shooting, PR parties, plus Ruth, Daisy's Creative Director, was there being a total boss woman, organising everything with her newborn baby, Zack, in tow. I mean, superwoman doesn't come close. But it wasn't all work, no play. We got to enjoy some of New York's sights and culinary delights. And to stay at The Ludlow Hotel – a dream come true.
And what's on our list when we can travel again?
Well, when we can travel again, we've got some serious time to make up for. We want to do it to the extremes and soak up the old Hollywood glamour of LA and Palm Springs, plus the unfiltered beauty of India.
It's kind of got it all, and though we might speak the same language, it couldn't be more different to the UK. California's year-round sunshine, outdoorsy lifestyle, and its residents' relentless friendliness is infectious. From the rugged-yet-retro deserts of Mojave to the pastel-palettes of WeHo, the timeless glamour of old Hollywood, to Malibu's miles of beaches. There's so much more to California than meets the eye.
What will we be packing?
So, we might not be up for an Oscar, but who cares when you've got your own in the form of our Vita necklace? Or when we're hot-footing it into the Mojave Desert, we'll be wearing the ultimate ear stack with our Artisan Huggie Duo set paired with our Artisan Chunky Hoop earrings.
Get Inspired India
On the other end of the travelling spectrum, we're desperate to experience the unfiltered beauty of India. Our heart goes out to it right now. We were in the middle of an exciting new project that we had to postpone because… 2020. We can't wait to pick things back up. On our list is Jaipur, The Pink City. It's such a hub for artists from all over the world. From jewellery makers to block printers, home to the most incredible artisans, it's the perfect place to get some creative inspiration.
